We are looking to recruit a new shift of part-time Machine Operators and Fork Lift Truck drivers in our state-of-the-art factory in Dalton, Thirsk. This shift will cover either:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday (30 hours)
- Friday, Saturday (20 hours)
Our Machine operator roles will ideally suit an experienced Machine Operator looking for part-time work, or someone with a basic understanding of the role looking for Friday/weekend work with the opportunity to gain further CNC Operative experience. Full training will be provided for the successful candidates. Our drivers will operate our side loading trucks and will ideally suit candidates who have previous experience of driving an FLT. Our side loader trucks operate primarily in an external yard environment and are very bespoke and full training will be given.
As a Machine Operator it is your responsibility to monitor and maintain the processing of steel sections through an automated CNC system, ensuring that a quality product is safely passed to the next stage of Severfield’s fabrication process.
As a FLT operator it is your responsibility to work to picking lists, selecting the correct length and grade of steel, and safely transporting that from our stockyard to our CNC equipment. The candidate will be required to update a digital tablet with the movement of steel.
The ideal candidate Machine Operator will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, and experience of using overhead cranes would be an advantage but training will also be provided. It would be beneficial if you can read and interpret basic technical drawings and CNC data.
The ideal FLT operator will have previous experience in driving either FLT or large mobile plant equipment. Experience of using overhead cranes would be an advantage but training will also be provided.
