Role – Machine Operator
Location – Newport
Salary - £36,000 - £39,000 including shift
Earlies Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm (12pm finish on Friday)
Lates Monday - Thursday 2pm - 12am
This is an excellent opportunity for a Machine Operator to join an established engineering business in the Newport.
This market leading engineering company operates an international network of facilities serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, power generation, oil & gas, construction, machine building, medical and transportation.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machinery within the finishing department (cylindrical / surface / polishing)
- Carry out routine operator maintenance tasks
- Responsible for quality of work and level of production
- Ensure that components are finished accordingly to the quality standards
- Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure preceding operations have been carried out correctly
- Good housekeeping (5s) of own work area and contribute to the general upkeep of the working environment
- Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position
- Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Previous experience of setting and operating manual machines
- Experience in reading engineering drawings
- Competent in the use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques
- A team player with a “can do attitude” and attention to detail
Salary / package:
- Pension – match contribution from 4% – 10%
- Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary
