The role

We’re looking for an Mainframe Operations Lead to lead a programme of tactical and strategic incentives to manage and deliver the day to day activities and projects related to Corporate IT and infrastructure. You’ll be proactive in supporting new initiatives, ensuring effective and timely delivery. Have experience working Scrum / Kanban as well as  having the knowledge and understanding of Mainframe technologies and terminology. You’ll collaborate with our external supplier to challenge existing processes in addition to experience with Kyndryl Zcloud and services

What will you do as anMainframe Delivery Leadat N Brown?

  • Ownership of Mainframe performance and day 2 day operations. i.e backup, storage and reporting.
  • Raising all mainframe Infrastructure (PAAS, SAAS, IAAS) related request and technically own it
  • Deliver the Infrastructure blueprint implementations via engaging various platform teams like – (Architecture, PMO, Networks, DBA, SSG, ITsec, etc)
  • Support PEN / DR testing from any Infrastructure & Network setup/configuration for 3rd parties by liaising with (InfoSec, SSG)
  • The Continuous Delivery & Operations org wide Platform Infrastructure changes and support.
  • Support Release & Change Management
  • Point of contact for Kyndryl, SSG and Vertali
  • Responsible for interacting with Mainframe Application SMEs, Mainframe ISV software vendors, and the Mainframe hosting partner.
  • Advocate for Mainframe changes and liaising with Logistics for operational understanding and schedules.

What skills and experience will you have?

  • Experience working in similar role and delivering projects and Scrum/Kanban
  • Operational knowledge and understanding of Mainframe technologies and terminology.
  • Knowledge of Kyndryl Zcloud hosting and services.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ISV software migrations and 3rd party management.

We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in. For this role, the expectation would be as requested or necessary to meet with suppliers. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!

Our working hours are 36.17 per week and our core working hours are between 10am - 4pm. Given we don’t have strict working hours you can find the working pattern that’s right for you.
