Maintenance Assistant/Lettings at Knowle DGEDetailsGrade: 3 SCP 5-7Responsible to: Estates ManagerHours of work: 16-25 hours per week (negotiable). Shift pattern to be negotiated, involving afternoons and an evening until 9.30pm (actual times of working to be discussed with Estates Premises Manager)Term time onlyOpportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance/Lettings Assistant to join our team. AboutThe primary purpose of this post is to undertake a range of duties with regard to the building, site and environment and their users, ensuring their safety and security. To be a named key holder for the school campus, ensuring the school is open and operational and locked and secure as required including evening/weekend activities, events and functions. We have a position for hours between 16 -25 per week (negotiable).Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo be a named key holder for the school campus, ensuring the school is open and operational and locked and secure as required including evening/weekend activities, events and functionsSet and unset school security alarm systems and to respond, where necessary, to alarm activations and emergency call outs. Report all building, fixtures, fittings and maintenance issues/defects across the school to the Estates Manager Test and manage fire safety systems in accordance with statutory requirementsTake ownership of and carry out routine daily/weekly/monthly planned maintenance activities such as Legionella monitoring and emergency lightingMaintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness across all schools, sweeping/clearing paths and walkways and completing waste management activities (Litter collections, putting school bins/recycling in/out as required )Comply with and promote good health and safety procedures for the facilities management team, teaching staff, contractors and their working practicesReport on the quality of subcontractor's work/service provision to the Estates Manager Assist with Traffic management and manning gates on schools’ premises Provide responsive and professional customer service, keeping schools informed of progress of work using clear and informative language. General making good and general upkeep of building fixtures and fittings including drain/gutter unblocking, window cleaning, stain/graffiti removal, painting/decorating, minor plumbing repairs, building fabric repairs, playground repairs Clean up after any self-work activity and ensure all subcontractors clean up on completion of their work activities Obtain and collate utility meter readings as required Assist with materials/products sourcing, pricing and procuring when/if required Provide adverse weather response, grit paths and clear snow as necessaryWhere necessary escort building contractors and service engineers around the schools’ buildings and premises, supporting them as required. Driving tasks i.e. collection/deliveries as required by Facilities Management and on behalf of Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership When required, to cover school colleagues or work at any other school operated or supported by Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership covering absence and/or resource shortfalls.Apply Today
