SalaryMaintenance Engineer
ROLE PURPOSE:
- We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure the upkeep of the GBS campuses is maintained, Health and Safety checks are carried out and evidenced in recording systems and all repairs are completed. The work is typically void refurbishments, reactive and planned maintenance from a small repair to small works such as painting, furniture assembly, repairs, and fixings. It will be moving from job to job throughout the week predominantly on a reactive basis between various GBS campuses across England. Tools, Van, and fuel card to travel between campuses will be provided.

A DBS may be required for this role.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the first line response to reactive repairs.
- Laying and fixing carpets, floors, tiles, fitting, fixing and unclogging toilets and urinals (general bathroom maintenance.)
- Painting and decorating including plastering.
- Basic electrical works, i.e., rewiring, PAT testing, fault finding, replacing lamps, sockets, TVs, projectors etc.
- To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
- Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
- You must have experience in electrician, carpentry, with fire doors and door closures, and general maintenance work if you apply for the role.
- Have a full understanding of plumbing, tiling, decoration (painting and plastering), carpentry, basic electrics and problem solving are mandatory.
- Must have a good manner and good communication skills.
- Relevant experience is required with references needed for the last two years.
- You must have a valid Full UK or EU driving license.
- Knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) will be an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evening or weekend when job can’t be done during the business hours).
- Enthusiastic, ambitious with the ability to work alone and on your own initiative.
