Maintenance Engineer
£35,000 to £37,000 plus excellent benefits
Full-time, 39 hours, Monday to Friday with full flexibility needed across 5 days over 7 (8:00am to 4:00pm or 9:00am to 5:00pm)

We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join us at our Newhouse depot to help manage the service and maintenance of all mechanical handling equipment (MHE). We'll look to you to support our colleagues in the depot and provide a great service. In this role you'll also be responsible for the upkeep of our service and repair records; using this information to help analyse trends and support effective planning.
What you'll do
- Carry out repairs, servicing, and maintenance of all MHE at the depot, including forklifts, counterbalance, low-level order pickers (LLOP)
- Build relationships with internal colleagues maintaining a strong level of service
- Support the ongoing maintenance and repair of the battery charging unit for MHE
- Maintain records of all service breakdowns and reactive repairs
- Make sure all spare parts and accessories are stored safely and securely
- Support the national fleet department and depot management team to make sure MHE repairs and maintenance costs are controlled
This role would suit people who have
- Experience of MHE repairs, servicing and maintenance
- NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification covering either mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or hydraulics
- Experience of completing risk assessments
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
