We are working with an established plastic product manufacturer based in Rushden. They are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a continental shift pattern in return for a salary in the region of £40,000 - £45,000 along with overtime and additional training and development opportunities.
The Maintenance Engineer needs to possess a strong hands-on background in mechanical and electrical skills directly related to operating in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Requires considerable working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic knowledge combined with some basic electrical maintenance, ideally from a plastics background or similar.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Following planned, preventative maintenance schedules
- Reacting quickly to machinery breakdowns
- Reading engineering drawings and schematics
- Mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair
- Basic electrical maintenance
- PLC fault finding
- Working with other departments to ensure production continues running
- Recording all work carried out
Qualifications & Experience required:
- City and Guilds / Level 2 or 3 qualification in Engineering
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship
