Service and Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer, with a strong background in security and fire systems, to join our family-run company in Hedge End that has been established for over 15 years. The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team and independently. This dynamic role involves tasks such as installation, commissioning, and fault finding of our systems.
You would be joining a team of service and Maintenance Engineers and you will be working on the service and maintenance of fire alarms, security systems, Access Control and CCTV systems. The successful candidate will need to have common sense, resilience, and the ability to use their own initiative. We are recruiting for this exciting role due to an increased workload within the service department, as a result of continuous growth and succession planning.
Responsibilities
- Attending sites and completing repair and maintenance of Security Systems
- Maintain respect for client property and adhere to standards during site visits.
- Collaborate with clients, team colleagues, and monitoring centers for effective communication.
- Ensure that when on a client’s site you treat their property and premises with the utmost respect working in a neat, methodical manner.
- Acting as an ambassador of the company, when driving or wearing company uniform.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Computer literate and able to work under own initiative.
- Proven experience in Fire and Security Systems installation.
- Familiarity with SSAIB, BAFE, and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Full Driving License (subject to inspection for insurance).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Security and/or Fire Systems.
- Preferable knowledge of SSAIB and BAFE Standards.

Salary and working hours
- £33,000 - £38,000 (OTE £43,000).
- Mon - Fri, 0800 - 1700 (30 mins lunch).
