Maintenance/Project Engineer (North)

Full Time, Permanent

55,000- 58,000 + up to 10% bonus + 6500 car allowance + enhanced pension scheme + paid overtime at x1.5 + comprehensive benefits package.

37.5 hours per week- Monday to Friday

Total Salary inc OT & Bonus:

71,500 (Calculation based on salary, 10% bonus & 5 hours of overtime per week- lots of overtime available)

Your base location can be one of the following: Peterborough, Runcorn, Dunbar or Glagsow.

Randstad Engineering are currently looking for a mechanically minded outage/project support engineer for an impressive client of ours. They are an Energy from Waste business that specialises in converting non-recyclable waste into renewable energy. Through the use of advanced technologies and sustainable practices, they transform waste materials into valuable resources, reducing landfill waste and minimising environmental impact.

This role is part of the national outage and projects team, your objectives are; outage support/assistance and multi site project management to the 4 ERF's (energy recovery facilities). The role covers the 4 northern UK facilities, you will be required to have a base location which can be Peterborough, Glasgow, Dunbar or Runcorn, travel to all 4 locations will be required on an ad hoc basis.

The objectives of the role will be to:

  • As our Outage Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the site Engineering and Maintenance teams to plan, schedule and deliver site outages. You'll liaise with contractors to ensure works are being carried out effectively and assist in the development of management plans, policies and procedures.
  • You'll work across our sites to ensure that all planned and emergent works are successfully delivered in order to maximise plant availability and ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial targets are met.
  • Liaising with the site teams, you'll offer advice to support them in finding repair solutions and provide guidance to minimise downtime.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following skills/experience:

  • A Confident and competent mechanically biased engineer
  • Previous experience working as a maintenance engineer, mechanical fitter, craftsman, mechanical engineer or alike titles.
  • Experience working in a heavy industry- power generation, nuclear, waste, chemical etc
  • Willing to work in a mixture of hands on/hands off
  • Qualified to level 3 or above in mechanical engineering.
  • Prepared to travel throughout the North UK (Sometimes nationally)

This role could suit someone who is currently working hands on as a maintenance engineer/fitter and would like to take on a wider and more varied role with some hands on/off duties.
