Job title: Maintenance Team Leader
Job location: Cambridge
Hourly pay rate: 19.68 PAYE or 25.27 Umbrella per hour
Shifts: Days, 07:00-15:30, Monday-Friday. Occasional nights or weekends required.
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Start date: February 2024
Duration: 6 Months+
Job Role
Responsible for the work planning co-ordination with the Angel Trains team.
The daily management of the warm storage team to ensure that all customer requests are met and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Responsible for managing Warm Storage team operations, activities and personnel at the relevant ATC Depot and customer location(s).
Based from the Cambridge depot, but travelling to and from our customers locations and ATC depots to provide warm storage support and work as prescribed by the cus-tomer.
Carrying out and recording of start of shift briefs and daily safety meetings and ensur-ing any issues that are unable to be dealt with are escalated.
Carrying out fitter duties to ensure minimum service levels are achieved.
Updating the customers maintenance management system as required and complet-ing all relevant customer documentation.
Ensuring warm storage team members remain competent and carrying out In Process Evaluations in line with ATCs CMS.
Supporting the Depot Manager and depot teams with routine depot related processes such as fire alarm testing, legionella monitoring/flushing, conducting safety tours, is-suing of Permits to Work, carrying out depot inductions/safety briefs and any other Cambridge depot duties as directed.
Assisting with the interview process of prospective team members when requested and confirming arrangements for new starters.
Ensuring that the customers depot safety plans and other depot specific safety in-structions are adhered to.
Support other ATC workstreams at Cambridge (nightshift and TRI) or other ATC/Customer locations as and when required.
Ensuring unit availability for wheel turning runs as per customer's plan
Management of Materials and required parts stock levels.
Key Duties:
Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quali-ty output at the relevant ATC Depot site.
Carry out work as allocated within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
Ensuring the wellbeing of all relevant personnel
Manging the team roster to ensure minimum service levels are maintained. Conduct-ing probation reviews, RTWs, 1 to 1s and absence reporting when required.
Implementation of customer requirements.
Production of meaningful KPI's for internal and external monitoring
Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job require-ments and have the relevant training to do so.
Ensure team member work in line with ATC procedures, any relevant VMI's & local in-structions.
Carry out any duties within your level of competence as requested by the Depot Man-ager.
Assisting with continuous improvement innovations
Ensuring work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for the effective recording of activity in accordance with Company, Cus-tomer and best practice Standards.
Ensuring that team members are up to date with business communications.
Responsible for the effective and prompt recording of activity in accordance with Company, Customer, and best practice Standards (both on worksheets and electroni-cally) as defined by the customer.
Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instruc-tions are adhered to.
Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary ac-tion is taken on items raised.
Always maintain good housekeeping and standard of cleanliness throughout ATC and customer depots.
Use of all PPE in accordance with standards and local instructions
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering
NVQ Level 3 qualification in Traction and Rolling Stock or a recognised apprenticeship.
Driving licence
Experience and Knowledge:
Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance ac-tivities.
DMU maintenance, overhaul, or fault diagnosis experience.
Understanding of Depot Operations
Able to interpret engineering drawings and provide technical solutions to problems.
Understanding of mechanical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and require-ments, including ISO 9001 and 14001.
Previous Team Management
Key Skills:
Able to problem solve, in a wide variety of project delivery situations, against planned delivery dates/timetable deadlines.
Successful and concise communication to; the customer, team members and the Team Leader
Ability to work as part of a 2-3-person team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Good IT skills in all aspects of MS Office
