Ambitek are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our client based in Portland.
THIS IS A 12 MONTH CONTRACT. HOWEVER, COULD BECOME PERMANENT FOR THE RIGHT PERSON.
This role is 8 week on / 8 weeks off.
You are still paid on your 8 weeks off.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Working under the command of the Master, ensure that the barge is fully maintained for the operation, bearing in mind the projected project and ensure you are familiar with the commercial arrangements, in particular the terms of the hire agreement. This work may not necessarily be electrical or electronic.
Ensure all work is carried out with due regard to health and safety risks.
Report all accidents immediately to the Master.
Qualifications, Certification and Experience
Strong background in joinery, welding and pipe work. Joinery is the more important skill set. Marine background is not essential.
Good level of English.
Ability to work within and form part of a small tight team.
Health & Safety awareness.
Whilst principally not a customer facing role, will on limited occasions have client interface contact. So must possess good interpersonal skills.
Presentable.
Pleasant personality.
Independent, ability to work on own initiative.
Self-motivated.
Hands on and prepared to perform a variety of tasks under instruction and using own initiative.
Flexible in outlook.
Medically fit.
