Join the World Land Trust Team as their brand new Major Giving Officer

Are you passionate about preserving our planet’s natural wonders and protecting endangered species? Do you have exceptional communication skills and a knack for building strong relationships? If so, Charity People have partnered with the incredible World Land Trust (WLT) team on the search for a new Major Giving Officer to manage their impressive portfolio of partners.

About World Land Trust:

Founded in 1989, World Land Trust is an internationally renowned organisation dedicated to conserving vital natural habitats and safeguarding endangered species worldwide. Their mission is clear: helping people across the world protect and restore their land to safeguard biodiversity and the climate. Their achievements have earned them international recognition, and they are incredibly proud to count Sir David Attenborough among their esteemed patrons.

This is a permanent role, and offers hybrid/flexible work, ideally with a minimum of one day a month in their Suffolk office. It comes with a salary of up to £25,000 p/a and a brilliant benefits package including 33 days holiday and 5% employer pension contribution.

About the role and team

WLT are not just a charity; they are a movement of dedicated individuals committed to preserving the planet’s biodiversity and combating climate change. As a Major Giving Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of their efforts, working alongside a passionate team to cultivate and strengthen relationships with Trusts, Foundations, Major Donors, and Legacy supporters.As a Major Giving Officer, you will actively contribute to the success of our Major Giving fundraising strategy. Your responsibilities include crafting compelling funding applications, producing impactful reports, and ensuring our supporters feel valued and informed about their contributions. Your role extends to data management, effective stewardship, and collaboration with internal teams to drive successful Major Giving campaigns.

About You

WLT are looking for someone who shares their values of being Focused, Honest, Positive, and Supportive. To excel in this role you will need to:

  • Have experience in fundraising, customer stewardship, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Be able to build and nurture long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be an enthusiastic team player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, IT competence, and a commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to write compelling Trust and Grant applications is highly desirable.
