Job description

Title: Manager, Business Development

Reporting to: Vice President, Sales

Location: London

As the BDR manager, your focus is to develop and manage a first-class Business Development team.

You are an excellent people manager who thrives at coaching a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to hit their targets consistently and predictably. Your team is responsible for qualifying inbound but predominantly creating outbound opportunities across verticals and target markets to build the pipeline to support our Account Executives (AEs).

This role is hybrid, with 2 days per week spent on site at our London Office (London Bridge).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day activities of your team, and ensuring BDRs deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
  • Report weekly and accurately forecast BDR team performance by leveraging the appropriate tools.
  • Prepare and agree on individual action plans and targets for all BDRs, including support with sales and activity planning, through to technical and personal growth development.
  • Work closely with AEs to ensure BDR resource is delivering on respective goals and sales objectives, including a rigorous understanding of target personas and verticals
  • Identify, research, design, and implement new sales strategies, methodologies, and processes to improve conversion rate performance through inbound and outbound lead generation
  • Appraise, and train BDRs on a regular and individual basis to ensure targets are met. Conduct skill-gap analysis to identify areas for improvement and work with sales enablement to build ongoing training programs to enable a continual culture of learning
  • Deliver regular L&D sessions, in-person and virtual, to develop BDRs skills in key areas such as communication and presentation, telling the sales story, effective listening
  • Develop SDRs understanding of sales and marketing tools (ZoomInfo, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Salesforce, Hubspot), to optimal usage, conversion, and confidence leveraging the tech stack

Requirements

What you will bring to the role:

  • 4+ (minimum) years’ experience in a Business Development Team Leadership role, managing and growing BDRs, ideally with a SaaS, recurring revenue focus
  • Charismatic, high energy, an excellent people leader. You have passion and a track record building strong, overachieving BDR teams and progressing BDRs in the early stages of their sales career
  • Experience onboarding, training, and mentoring to ensure you are developing team members' knowledge, skills, and confidence on an ongoing basis
  • First-class people and communication skills. You need to be hands-on, motivate, and lead your team through the highs and lows of sales and changes in the Go-To-Market strategy
  • Highly numerate and skilled with managing large data sets. You value data and are not afraid to dive into metrics and spot insights to improve individual, and team performance
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and enjoy problem solving
  • You want to make a mark and are hungry to build a world-class BDR team. You’ll be proactive, taking the opportunity to collaborate and learn from your peers so that you get stronger and more confident executing your role
  • Background in SaaS essential
  • An interest and experience in Sustainability is a significant bonus
