Job description

I am currently partnering with a Tier 1 bank in search of an experienced IRRBB professional to join them in the development of their growing UK function.

Reporting into the Senior Treasury Manager, responsible for IRRBB across the UK entity, and working within a small team, this role has an interesting blend of hands on a strategic responsibility for supporting the development of the UK function.

In the words of the hiring manager, what sets this opportunity apart from others is that whilst a lot of the Tier 1's have highly developed IRRBB capabilities, the firm are still very much on a growth journey with theirs, which means you'll have the opportunity to gain a lot of unique exposure and fast track your own growth in an area that's increasingly sought after in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from diverse functions and levels to develop and execute effective risk management strategies.
  • Assist in structural hedging endeavours and the mitigation of Interest Rate Risks linked to fixed-rate retail mortgages and other products.
  • Analyse customer behaviours and pricing strategies across different Interest Rate scenarios to provide recommendations for optimal management of associated IRRBB risks.
  • Contribute to key activities, including forecasting, reporting, risk appetite calibration, and ICAAP contributions.
  • Lead the establishment and execution of a robust IRRBB management framework encompassing both financial and non-financial risks in alignment with our Group team.
  • Support initiatives for IRRBB remediation, transformation, capability enhancement, and the dissemination of best practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive background in IRRBB, encompassing oversight of pivotal structural hedging initiatives and providing support in managing risks related to fixed-rate retail mortgages.
  • Effective communication skills across various formats.
  • Proficient in utilising key business software, including essential analytical tools.
  • Possesses an analytical mindset and adept problem-solving skills; capable of dissecting complex issues to identify root causes and applying judgement to comprehend problems and devise effective solutions.
  • Embraces a collaborative approach and maintains strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products, particularly in fixed income and derivatives, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates ambition, proactivity, flexibility, and adaptability to change.
