We do Warehousing, Distribution, Online Fulfillment, Haulage, Parcel Delivery Services and much, much more. While ASDA Logistics Services (ALS) is serving our stores, the Logistics Commercial function is serving customers across the UK, working with some of the largest suppliers and retailers. We have the freedom to think like a startup, but with the benefit of ASDA’s scale to operate. We are building, come join us!

As a Business Development Manager in the Logistics Commercial function, you will help build new products and services for our clients to support the growth journey of this business. You will own programmes to bring new services to market, lead on customer experience and optimize cost. You will work directly with clients to understand their needs, and work with team across the business to make it happen. The role comes with a high level of autonomy and opportunity to use your Logistics industry knowledge to create and land new initiatives.

• Leading a team to build new programs to improve customer experience even further and reduce cost to serve for our clients
• Utilize industry knowledge to benchmark mechanisms and build better ones
• Drive decisions through data and systems
• Utilize internal systems teams to optimize processes
• Create new optimization initiatives, launch new pilots and quickly scale up what works
• Contribute to business cases for investment in new services and products
• Communicate progress with stakeholders in the business including Directors
• Deliver measurable results that justify the rollout of changes to the wider business
• See programs through to the bottom line, supporting the change adoption and transition into business as usual (BAU)
• Deliver all of the above through the power of your team

• A background in Logistics, E Commerce, Freight, Supply Chain and/or Retail
• You start with the customer and work backwards
• You thrive on bringing clarity from ambiguity
• You enjoy unconstrained thinking and trying new ideas backed by good data and sound judgement
• You move to action fast and take a ‘just do it’ approach to overcome barriers
• You will relish the opportunity to solve for more than one thing at a time; and bring experts from the organization together to make it happen
