Managing Director
Walsall
Leading the management team, you will be responsible for the company's day-to-day running, ensuring that the facilities, people and processes operate efficiently and effectively to ensure clients and learners are served to the highest level, and our core company values are prominent throughout.
Your leadership will ensure the business's success in delivering operational excellence through strong people management, high-quality educational programs, achieving business plan objectives and continuing to deliver a best-in-class reputation across the industry.
Main Responsibilities to Include:
Leadership & Management:
Provide effective and inspiring leadership for the business, ensuring that all staff collaborate to achieve the highest levels of success for all key stakeholders. Be an ambassador for the business, developing a solid reputation for excellent key stakeholder relationships. Demonstrate a commitment to staff and learners personal growth and development at all levels, enabling them to develop the skills necessary to achieve outstanding outcomes. Assist and support the business in further developing In-Comm s vision and strategy. Ensure that appropriate targets are set and agreed through the business to achieve strategic aims and objectives and performance against these targets is monitored and achieved. Be visible, open and accessible to staff, students and stakeholders, ensuring strong internal and external communications. Lead and promote a culture of partnership, working to raise aspirations and realise ambitions towards achieving outstanding success. Ensure In-Comm exceeds its legal, statutory and regulatory requirements from government, funding and regulatory bodies. Managing Director - Corporate Strategy & Policy:
Make proposals to the Board about the quality, activities and vision of the business whilst implementing the policies and decisions of the Board.
This will include:
Execute the business plan, closely monitor In-Comm s progress against the strategic plan and take appropriate action as the plan develops. Identifying the significant issues facing the business and helping to prepare an appropriate response that clearly outlines the actions the business needs to take in the environment in which it operates. Ensure that In-Comm s policies, procedures and practices, including safeguarding, equality & diversity, health & safety and environment, are developed, promoted and implemented. Managing Director - Teaching, Students, Curriculum & Quality:
This will include:
Ensuring that all aspects in relation to the well-being and safety of visitors, staff and students remain paramount in the culture of In-Comm. Promote and facilitate the innovation and development of the curriculum within the business. Further the development of industry-led curriculum and student support services. Supporting the effective operation of all learner-related systems, including maintaining learner discipline. Ensuring there are mechanisms in place for effective dialogue with learners and to consult actively and engage with learners positively. Establish, maintain and continually improve operational policies, procedures and tools to ensure efficient and effective program implementation. Ensuring that all programmes and qualifications are delivered conform to quality standards. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of operations and make data-driven decisions. Managing Director - Resource Management:
Contribute to developing In-Comm s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability. Monitoring financial performance, analysing variances, and taking corrective actions to meet revenue and cost targets. Ensure that resources are reviewed, expanded, allocated and controlled openly based on clearly stated criteria supporting the Strategic Plan. In-Comm s assets are effectively managed to maximise the business's benefit. Information systems are in place to provide timely, robust data to support the business's management and ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Board. Corporate responsibility for Health, Safety and Wellbeing is embedded, and a safe and healthy environment for learners, staff and visitors is promoted. Managing Director - Business Development:
Supporting the Executive Directors in ensuring In-Comm maintains existing regional and national partnerships that are currently in place with other educational organisations, local authorities, funding agencies, employers, feeder schools, universities, and community organisations, as well as forging the development of new relationships with other prospective partners.
Ensure that effective business development strategies promote In-Comm, enhance its brand visibility, and continue to secure new business growth.
Plus, any other areas as determined by the Board.
Competence & Qualifications
Assessing Award To hold a current A1 Assessing Award or Equivalent - Desirable
IQA - To hold a current V1 Internal Quality Assurance Award or Equivalent - Desirable
Management - To hold a qualification within the field of Senior Management and Leadership - Essential
Teaching Qualification - To hold the Certificate to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector qualification as a minimum - Desirable
Service Improvement - To hold a qualification in Service Improvement or Business Improvement Techniques - Desirable
Technical or Industrial Competence - The individual must be technically or industrially competent in the management of training - Essential
Information Technology - To be confident in using, installing and developing IT systems and processes - Essential
Knowledge and Experience
Substantial and successful experience managing at a senior level, including promoting and managing change - Essential
Extensive knowledge and experience of the sector and the environment in which it operates - Essential
Proven track record of success - Essential
Experience of working with a wide range of strategic stakeholders - Essential
Experience in representing further education organisations at local, regional and/or national levels - Essential
Leadership & Management Skills
Highly effective communication skills that promote confidence and integrity; a highly skilled presenter able to convey complex ideas and inspire a range of internal and external audiences - Essential
Experience in high-level financial management and the ability to work with financial information for decision-making purposes - Essential
Inclusive and visible leadership, which inspires staff to improve - Essential
Ambassadorial skills and the effective management of organisational reputation - Essential
Ability and experience in successfully leading and managing a variety of teams - Essential
Experience in curriculum building, planning and quality improvement with a sound knowledge of quality systems and experience in achieving significant improvements in the provision - Essential

Remuneration
Salary Band Dependent upon experience.
Working Hours Full Time Monday to Friday 08.30-17.30 Hours M-T and 08.30-15.30 Hours F
Pension 3% Employee Contribution & 7% Employer Contribution
Life Insurance Non-Contributory 3 x Salary
Medical Insurance AXA PPP Medical Insurance
Holidays 25 Days plus Bank Holidays and up to an extra week for long service awards
