Remit
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to strategically lead the flagship of new capability and the government’s investment into the Telecoms sector. The role will develop and manage the facility’s strategic direction, performance, investment planning and strategic customer and international relationships - including industrial, academic and government stakeholders. A member of the senior leadership team, this high-profile role will own the organisation’s security risks and be accountable for the governance of its security management. This opportunity will appeal to talented and respected leaders keen to shape, develop and evolve an internationally respected telecommunication testing organisation at the forefront of the UK’s science expertise and innovation.
Request
Proven experience in Telecoms, cyber or telecoms security and a technical background. Excellent existing industry relationships with both operators and vendors.
Track record of experience that demonstrates the ability to develop and lead an internationally respected telecommunication testing organisation.
A self-starter with a desire to develop a world leading telecoms facility.
Skills in business management, strategic budget management, people management, communication, senior stakeholder management and organisational management and change.
Understanding and experience of inspiring and leading teams of technical experts and taking them through significant change (growth) programmes.
Stakeholder engagement internally and externally from a customer and government perspective, with outstanding influencing and networking capability.
Business leadership experience in government or civil service is desirable. We actively recruit citizens of all backgrounds, but the nature of our work in this specific area means that nationality, residency and security requirements are more tightly defined than others. To work in this role, you will need to have DV clearance with no restrictions, or you must have the ability to obtain DV clearance.
