Randstad CPE are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor from an MEP background to effectively manage a small team of Surveyors and project assoicated costs for our client, a pioneering Tier 1 Contractor.
Your key duties will include:
- Oganise the team in support of the Project Managers and carry out the quantity surveying function on large commercial projects
- Tender documentation and contract negotiation
- Review and analyse project costs
- Valuations and Progress Claims
- Ensure governance is followed in terms of type of Contract including JCT & NEC 3 and adhere to terms and conditions as well as guide the Operations team
- Reporting of fiscal data on projects
- Implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and prevent budget overruns.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards related to Mechanical and Electrical projects.
- Ensure all activities and documentation adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Explore opportunities to enhance current procedures
- Liaise with clients, site production staff, stakeholders and the supply chain.
- Responsible for the supply chain and management of the on going sub contractor agreements
- Manage the monthly applications and raise any early warning notices and compensation events as required
- Manage any cost adjustments and Change Requests
- Cost Value reconciliation for projects
- Support the Estimating team as required
- Analysis of budgets and estimating changes where necessary
- Attend any site and client meetings as required
- Cost estimation and budget preparation
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years Senior experience
- ONC, HNC, BSC or similar in Quantity Surveying or Construction
- Experience within a M&E Contractor/sub-contractor or Facilities Management contractor. Strong knowledge of MEP systems
