Machinist/Toolmaker/Grinder Bath Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 16:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm GBP14 - GBP16 per hour depending on experience

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced candidate who can work on their own and as part of a friendly Production team, supporting a well-established SME with a worldwide reputation for providing quality products and service excellence in their niche markets.
For over 80 years, our client has been a market-leading manufacturer of specialised precision rotary devices for the aerospace and metrology industries. The company designs, develops and manufactures highly accurate inspection equipment that measures circular geometry and angular positioning.
To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated with a good understanding of mechanical and quality control methods and procedures.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Completed recognised apprenticeship
- Experience in manual surface and rotary grinding an advantage
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
- Ability to work with one-offs and small batch production
- Strong knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willing to learn new skills, taking part in training
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
What will your role look like?
- Operate CNC and Manual Machines to finish metal components according to specifications
- Carry out surface and grinding operations
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand the
required dimensions and tolerances
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to maintain quality standards
- Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality
- Collaborate with other team members and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Document production and inspection data accurately
