The role
As a Manufacturing and Repair Team Leader, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. In this role, you will help generate significant value by providing support to the Manufacturing Repair Overhaul (MRO) assembly and test areas with new build and test work for MOD and overseas marine platforms (ships and submarines).
Day to day, you'll:
  • Attend regular production meetings, working proactively with other departments to confirm targets, identify constraints and resolve any issues identified
  • Ensure that all environmental, healthy and safety polices and procedures are adhered to
  • Provide leadership and direction to members of the production team, acting as a motivational influence
  • Provide regular and accurate feedback to the area manager on all issues that may affect the performance of the department and any predetermined goals
  • Embrace change and be willing to develop new skills through personal and team development

This role is full time working thirty-six hours per week and will be based onsite at Ashton House.
Essential experience of the Manufacturing and Repair Team Leader:
  • Assembling systems for build or test from engineering drawings
  • Following test procedures, reporting faults and findings
  • Communicating with supporting engineers effectively to aid problem solving
  • Using multiple IT programs to generate and analyse data, and to write reports on results
  • Working in confined spaces and at height

Qualifications for the Manufacturing and Repair Team Leader:
  • Time served apprenticeship in Mechanical discipline HND or higher

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
