About the Opportunity

Our international Defence Industry Solutions business provides advanced facilities design, project, programme, construction & Production line automation management services for a wide range of clients in defence infrastructure, nuclear facilities, advanced manufacturing, and research laboratories. In addition, we provide consultancy and implementation services asset management, cyber security and digital connected services and networks.

This is a great opportunity to work with our clients to enable Manufacturing compliance and optimised Jacobs Integrated Intelligent Asset Management (IIAMD) processes and practices. Preferred locations would be Bristol, Exeter, Reading, but hybrid and prepared to occasionally travel and work on client sites is essential. Join us and take your career to the next level;

  • Liaising with clients to plan the introduction of current and future product and service improvements, through applying 6 sigma methodologies to influence designs aimed at reducing client start up cost and maximising product capability and producibility.
  • Design for Assembly and Manufacture strategies and efficient workflows for programmatically managing assigned systems e.g., MEP, ERP, SAP, & Kanban ensuring compliance with applicable Jacobs and industry standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Design and develop production line tooling, fixtures, processes, and documentation including, Improvements through automating operations and maintenance tasks to provide optimal performance.
  • Streamline data capture/reporting of key performance indicators for IIAMD principles including supporting production staff with Value Steam Analysis activities regarding product availability, downtime, and schedule compliance.
  • Support the implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process driving organisational change across our client s assets and sites.
  • Guide and coordinate the efforts of organisations to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) reliability and maintainability of equipment, including continuous improvement process to refine production and maintenance processes to support sustainable resilience of our clients facilities and manufacturing assets.
  • Supporting sales and business development, including framework managers on new opportunity identification and technical bid solutions / writing support

Qualifications - External

  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical / Electrical / Robotics / Automation Engineering or other applicable field and relevant experience.
  • Ideally Membership and engagement with the IET / IAM / SAE or equivalent, stays current with advancements in the Asset Management field, e.g., MIAM or CMRP memberships.
  • Understanding and experience of leading Manufacturing related programmes, setting strategy and linking to business key performance metrics.
  • Able to assess an asset management program and identify deficiencies and implement improvements
  • Experience in implementation of Computerised Product Lifecycle Management & Automation Systems
  • Ability to implement and manage a MEP / ERP system
  • Possess a clear understanding of Design for Assembly (DfA) and Design for Manufacture (DfM) Principles
  • Understanding (and experience) of deploying 6 Sigma methodologies and tools throughout the lifecycle of an asset.
  • Experience of life cost Modelling, early design stages, transition from design and development into production phases and preparation into handover to in-service (operational)
  • Understanding of phases including life extension and decommissioning and retirement and disposal.
  • You must be a UK National and able/willing to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes resident in the UK for the preceding 5 years
