Fantastic opportunity to develop your procurement skills in a supportive environment that will enhance career options. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing of materials, goods, and services.
* Analyse, review, and place POs based on MRP demand.
* Receive acknowledgements for POs and update the system as necessary.
* Ensure all POs are delivered on time.
* Monitor purchasing data in SAP and keep up to date.
* Provide timely information in relation to all purchase parts to other departments. Ensuring that Materials Planning and Production are informed of any changes in planned delivery dates.
* Optimise inventory levels of all purchased items by determining inventory levels in order to support the business objectives.
* Provide factual data to support all buying decisions.
* Manage RFQs and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best agreement for goods and services.
* Build relationships with suppliers.
* Develop new supply sources where necessary.
* Expand LCC efforts from a cost reduction and an order fulfilment perspective.
* Be results driven and focus on the best outcome for the company.
* Continuous improvement of processes.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Manufacturing knowledge.
* Process driven.
* Competent in using SAP and MS Office packages.
* A good understanding of MRP.
* Good time management skills with the ability to work within a busy, fast-paced environment.
* Working toward CIPS qualification or relevant experience in manufacturing.
* Possess excellent customer service skills.
* Understanding of Engineering drawings would be an advantage.
* Import and customs knowledge would be an advantage.
