Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in Quality, Process and Design Engineering? This is a great opportunity to join a manufacturing company that works to provide prototype products to other businesses. Largely creating plastic or metal products for the market. Our client is keen to bring someone in looking to upskill in the likes of AM machinery, 3D systems, concept lasers and more.
About the role:
- Programming of customer files using MAGICS & SpaceClaim for manufacture on metal & plastic AM machines
- CAD tasks such as reverse engineering, custom mould design, tool & insert design, custom jigs and more.
- Assist creating quotes for clients, factoring in machine running time and any risks involved
- Work directly with the Ops Manager to update production schedules for machines. Work with CNC programmers to come up with a print and machining strategy
- Strict adherence to quality management systems ISO 9001, AS9001, assist with audits, attend and input in quality meetings
- Carry out and assist with internal and external testing requirements, including mechanical (Instron and hardness testing), chemical (carpenter additive), physical inspection (magnification, surface roughness, FARO and Handyscan equipment), helping to interpret results and provide assistance to help qualify prints and parts.
- Undertake internal R&D activities and assist the Engineering Director with collaborative R&D projects with external partners.
About you:
- Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent
- 3 years’ experience in engineering role
- Have a passion to find solution to technically challenging problems
