Job description

What if you could work with remarkable people on extraordinary things? What if the end result was something a little bit special? What if your role was mission critical?
For nearly 70 years, AWE has been at the forefront of nuclear weapons research and development. We have a critical mission: to provide the warheads for the UK’s ultimate deterrent - Trident. We also use our unique skills to provide wider UK government with counter-terrorism and nuclear threat reduction solutions.
It takes a special sort of person to work at AWE. What if that person was you?
AWE is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Capability Acquisition Lead
AWE are at the start of a once-in-a-generation programme, critical to the defence of the UK in the ever-changing environment, and your skills could be used to ensure the UK remains Safe and Secure for another generation by supporting development of a modern, innovative manufacturing capability. We are tasked with designing and producing a replacement warhead at the same time as managing one of the most important and challenging infrastructure programmes ever undertaken, all at the same time as continuing to deliver the current programme. This means it has never been a more exciting time to be an engineer at AWE.
Now is the time to have your chance to be at the forefront of the design, development, and implementation of a new Manufacturing System into world-class facilities, revolutionising and modernising the way we work, ensuring the deterrent is available to support the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, now and for the future.
Engineering leadership is key to us achieving our goals, especially given the complexity of the products we make and the environment we operate in and even more important to the teams we have the honour of leading, developing and supporting.
Role: Manufacturing Engineering Capability Acquisition Lead

Salary: £58,500 - £90,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
