Job description

An experienced Manufacturing Expeditor is needed to join the team at this premium boring and turning company based in Sheffield on a full-time basis. 

As a Manufacturing Expediter, you will play a critical role in managing their relationships with subcontractors, ensuring that all outsourced work meets their high standards of quality and is completed within agreed timeframes. 

You will be the key liaison between themselves and their subcontractors, responsible for overseeing and streamlining the workflow to maximise efficiency and maintain product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure that all projects are executed according to their specifications and timelines
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors to facilitate smooth operations
  • Track the progress of outsourced projects, identifying and addressing any delays or issues that arise
  • Provide regular updates to internal teams regarding project status and expected completion dates
  • Conduct regular audits of subcontractors to ensure adherence to their quality standards and operational procedures
  • Implement corrective actions when necessary to address any quality or performance issues
  • Serve as subcontractors' primary point of contact, ensuring clear and effective communication
  • Prepare and present reports on subcontractor performance and project progress to management
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in subcontractor management and project execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices and enhance overall operational efficiency

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
