Form of workManufacturing Manager: Our client, a long established manufacturer, is looking to appoint a Manufacturing Manager for their fast paced volume production site. Managing over 100 people on shift at any one time the successful Manufacturing Manager will retain close ties with the shop floor, leading a team to meet daily KPI's, and have experience of a time sensitive, lean focused, volume manufacturing environment that has a welding department.
Although the majority of staff are permanent at peak times your team may be strengthened with the addition of contract / agency staff. It would be beneficial for the Manufacturing Manager to have had had previous experience of managing temporary staff with the issues this can bring up. A tough but fair stance is required.
Previous work experience in a lean manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Manager ultimately chosen for this role can come from a wide range of backgrounds as long as they have experience of managing a welding department in their work history. Applications are particularly encouraged by candidates from any manufacturing background with a skilled workforce.
