Job description

In this Operations Manager role, your responsibilities will encompass all manufacturing operational functions, with a particular focus on overseeing production, production planning, and the overall site. As a senior figure within the Business Unit, you are expected to provide high-level reporting and contribute to strategic decision-making through effective management, as well as provide strong site leadership and decision making capabilities.

My cleint is a mid-size industrial manufacturer, my client conducts business in over 70 countries, operating more than 200 factories and employing a workforce exceeding 20,000 individuals.

Description


  • Take charge of operational aspects, including Health & Safety, quality, target adherence, and process adherence.
  • Collaborate with the mid-level management team to enhance quality and efficiency throughout the entire plant.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement, innovation, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Advocate for a culture where health and safety is the topmost priority.
  • Manage and support all on-site operational activities to meet targets in Production, Quality, and Health and Safety.
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and support by effectively managing direct reports.
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company H&S procedures among the site team, covering PPE, accident/incident reporting, and chemical safety.
  • Play a crucial role in continuous improvement and root cause analysis efforts.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce waste and cut costs in collaboration with the Finance Department to understand overheads and expenditures.
  • Collaborate across the business to ensure timely and quality manufacturing of all products.
  • Manage factory capacity to maximize yield and productivity.
  • Establish robust stock management practices to meet working capital targets and work closely with engineering and procurement on stock and BOM accuracy.

  • Profile


  • Demonstrated five years of previous experience in a senior management/supervisory role, showcasing a keen desire and ability to understand the detailed workings of the environment.
  • Extensive background in managing Manufacturing Operations, overseeing sizable facilities with 50 or more employees.
  • Proven success in leading process improvement initiatives through the application of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, Kanban, and other tools/methodologies.
  • Established track record of achieving key performance indicators in quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Knowledge and expertise in managing operational budgets, including proficiency in P&L.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing Capex requests aligned with operational requirements.
  • Proficiency in coordinating activities across large teams, collaborating effectively with other functions, and possessing strong communication and motivation skills.
  • Experience in decision-making, mentorship, upskilling, and succession planning for a team of people leaders
