Job Description
We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer for our manufacturing site in Slough.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that a company's products meet the required quality standards and that manufacturing processes are continuously improved.
Providing day-to-day shop-floor support in improving manufacturing/operational processes, management of non-conformance, and corrective action processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Point of contact for day-to-day quality issues
- Lead daily material review meetings with cross-functional teams
- Review internal non-conformances and customer complaints and close in a timely manner
- Investigate problems to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions
- Prepare customer certification dossiers and document packs prior to release of product
- Maintain KPI data/charts and monitor trends to identify improvement activities and reduce Cost of Poor Quality
- Carry out internal audits to the UK audit schedule and facilitate closure of non-conformities
- Provide support in external audits (Certification body/Customer/Supplier)
- Create rejection documents/notifications and assist with concessions applications
- Work closely with other Quality Engineers and Operational Departments in resolution of quality issues
- Work on Continuous Improvement initiatives/projects as identified by the Quality Manager
- Provide other QA support as relevant for the role

The Individual
- A working knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System standard is essential, and familiarity with the AS9100 Aerospace standard would be advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience in Root Cause Analysis, preferably gained in a manufacturing environment. (ideally Oil & Gas, Automotive, or Aerospace)
- Possession of an internal auditing certificate would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of various quality tools, such as 8D, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Gauge R&R (Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility), Lean methodologies, etc.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills to manage various tasks and documentation effectively.
- Degree/HND qualified in Science/Engineering/QA or equivalent is desired.
- Fluent in written/spoken English is essential.
