The Manufacturing Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible the implementation of new products into manufacturing.

This position is part of the New Product Introduction team located in Chaska, MN. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the New Product Introduction team and report to the Senior Manager responsible for driving new production introductions from R&D into Manufacturing. If you thrive in a fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class supply chain organization—read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in the development of new products on the New Product Development Operations team, collaborating with other team members to ensure compatibility with current and future manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • Coordinate or participate in operations-related activities required for the transfer of new products to routine production such as scale-up, process development/optimization, technology transfer, process validation, test method validation, and costing​.
  • Partner with senior Operations project managers and R&D teams to assess manufacturability throughout the Innovation Development Process of new immunoassay reagent products.
  • Serve as a tactical lead with regards to new product introduction activities, including, but not limited to bill of materials, reference material, reagent formulation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Create and maintain production documentation including procedures, worksheets, and bills of materials.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 2+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with standard work and with quality control, reagent operations or supply chain management
  • Experience in immunoassay diagnostics and with Quality System Regulations
  • Experience working against project deadlines

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering
  • Exposure to Design for Manufacturing
  • Experience with daily management
