Manufacturing Supervisor

Frontline Recruitment Derby Ltd are recruiting for a manufacturing site supervisor to ensure the efficient and safe running of our clients business based Nr Belper, Derbyshire.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Supervisor you will ensure the smooth running of processes on the production floor. Duties include the overseeing routine production activities, troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean production workspace.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations on site, supervision of production operatives, overseeing health and safety and product processing under the supervision of the Operations Manager.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Hands on manufacturing
• Assembly of metal fabrications
• Responsible for site health and safety
• Responsible for keeping a clear and well-maintained production area.
• Leading manufacturing activities
• Responsible for day-to-day supervision of production operatives
• Processing Works Orders and manufacturing of goods to schedule
• Maintaining stock control systems
• Liaising with line manager on processing and updating operating procedures.
• Responsible for quality conformance
• Responsible for receipt and quality acceptance of Goods In
• Ensuring that production processes are in line with company and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately completing all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance
• Informing a production team of preferred occupational health and safety practices
• Communicating expectations to production team members and evaluating their performance
• Implementing relevant emergency response procedures during emergency situations
• Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
• Compiling reports about production and providing management with updates
• Managing the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
• Ensuring all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly

Education and Experience

2 years in a Manufacturing Supervisory role

Competent IT user, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Basic understanding of MRP systems

(Essential) GCSEs in Maths, English, Science

Good understanding of 5S manufacturing principles.

Excellent organisational skills to plan production schedules and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment.

Strong analytical skills to determine problems within the production process and take appropriate action.

Good time-management skills to minimise downtime and ensure a team works efficiently.

The ability to cope with pressure and make sound decisions quickly.

A firm understanding of health and safety regulations.
