About the Role:

  • Handling and resolving insurance claims efficiently and fairly in accordance with our claims Charter / code of Conduct and Claim process guidelines.
  • Working closely with the LSM Claims team and Head of Marine / Head of Aviation towards delivery of our corporate goals whilst promoting LSM core values.

About the Department & Team:

Liberty Specialty Markets Claims department handle claims through all stages from initial notification to conclusion including; analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriate reserves and making claims payments as required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with Underwriting & Claims to support the retention and attraction of Clients.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Engineering and Actuarial on portfolio, risk mitigation, policy language and claim trends.
  • Enhance the exposure and profile of the Marine and Aviation Claims teams through our Claims+ offering, attendance at meetings, as well as business development opportunities at industry events, conferences, and other external engagements.
  • Liaising with market surveyors, adjusters and legal professionals where required.
  • Communicate and collaborate between LSM and Clients to provide insight.
  • Adherence to the authority requirements of the role as agreed. Additionally, financial authority will be reviewed no less than annually.
  • To support the management of all third-party relationships where the third party has delegated claims handling authority.
  • Adherence to the LSM Claims Charter and Code of Conduct
  • Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules ,Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing

Skills and Experience:
  • Training will be provided on all technical aspects of the role
  • Experience in effective relationships with key stakeholders would be beneficial
  • Ability to make decisions and exhibit sound and reasoned judgment and/or escalate as necessary
  • Competent organizational, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Competent analytical and oral/written presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills training will be provided, previous experience would be beneficial
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and dynamic
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent IT skills required
  • Experience of data analysis would be beneficial
