Overview:
Our Marine Cargo team within Gallagher Specialty are looking to hire an experienced marine insurance professional in our team. We’re looking for a self-starter with a proven track record within the Marine Cargo insurance.
As a member of our broking team, you’ll be integral to the smooth running of the division whilst driving us forward and delivering against ambitious targets.
This role requires the applicant to understand the technical elements of Cargo insurance, from first contact to placement, the individual hired will be expected to assist the team in managing clients, broker and underwriters relationships needed to place a wide variety of US accounts.
Responsibilities:
How you’ll make an impact:
  • Design and agree client and revenue development plans, including product and territorial development strategies where required.
  • Providing a high level of customer service with to clients, underwriters and other key stakeholders
  • Deliver on client priorities and manage their satisfaction utilising industry technologies
  • Dealing with queries from clients and underwriters, escalating where appropriate to ensure timely resolution
  • Work cohesively with other brokers, technicians within the US team and our colleagues in overseas offices to provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Manage new business goals, sales situations and account service. Align clients with our internal procedures and work with our technical team to prevent errors and omissions.
  • Assist, educate and develop other team members in new client situations. Developing effective relationships within the division and wider organisation
  • Support the Leadership Team and colleagues in developing, growing and delivering operational plans and revenue targets
Qualifications:
About you:
  • A robust knowledge of Marine Cargo insurance.
  • Experience in leading colleagues and clients through difficulties, overcoming challenges whilst meeting business objectives and deliverables.
  • Able to quickly recognise potential problems and provide solutions, especially during periods of change
  • Excellent communication (written, oral & presentation) skills
  • High level regulatory awareness, excellent interpersonal skills, powerful presentation skills, strategic mind-set and the ability to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Excellent prioritisation when balancing conflicting demands, and ambiguity.
  • Act with the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Eligible to work in the UK
