We will offer successful candidates the opportunity to work in a hybrid arrangement, providing more options to balance their work and personal life whilst ensuring business needs are achieved. Your primary place of work could be one of our three main UK office locations (Bristol, Derby or Preston) and occasional travel to client sites will be required, dependent upon project.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply & continue to develop a breadth of engineering skills, in the discipline of Marine Engineering and where applicable, covering disciplines such as mechanical, structural, and electrical systems.
  • Define & conduct specific engineering analysis and project management techniques and keep abreast of emerging technologies that could improve the company and/or client processes & outputs.
  • Investigate & solve complex technical problems in concept, basic and detailed design phases.
  • Develop & maintain written technical and administrative procedures, standards, processes, practices, guidelines, and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Engineering), or equivalent experience in the naval and commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.

  • Primary & secondary propulsion systems.
  • Power generation & electrical distribution.
  • Marine Structures (Main & Auxi, CAT A,B Seats)
  • Auxiliary machinery and mechanical/fluid ship systems.
  • P&ID Development
  • Detailed design
Desired Skills:
  • An understanding of the role of a Marine Engineer and design codes & standards throughout all stages of the equipment lifecycle.
  • Experience of working in small multi-discipline teams with an ability to communicate effectively.
  • The motivation to excel and achieve professional recognition, accreditation & progression.
Experience:
  • The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience (6 years for non-degree qualified) working in either the commercial or naval maritime domain.
  • Missing skills or experience? Let us be the judge! At Expleo we are passionate about people; we recognise that technology moves quickly and that no one can learn everything, which is why we seek those who can adapt and demonstrate the aptitude to learn. With enthusiasm and the right attitude, we can help you discover your potential.
What do I need before I apply:
  • The post will be based in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services.
  • We are interested in engaging with all candidates with the necessary experience, however it should be noted that naval projects may be subject to initial security considerations (e.g., sole UK nationality and eligible for ‘Security Check’ (SC) or ‘Developed Vetting’ (DV) security clearance).
Benefits:
  • Collaborative working environment – we stand shoulder to shoulder with our clients and our peers through good times and challenges
  • We empower all passionate technology loving professionals by allowing them to expand their skills and take part in inspiring projects
  • Expleo Academy - enables you to acquire and develop the right skills by delivering a suite of accredited training courses
  • Competitive company benefits such as medical and dental insurance, pension, life assurance, employee wellbeing programme, sports and social events, birthday hampers and much more!
  • Always working as one team, our people are not afraid to think big and challenge the status quo

  • As a Disability Confident Committed Employer we have committed to:
    • Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
    • Communicating and promoting vacancies
    • Offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job
    • Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
    • Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people

“We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age”.

We treat everyone fairly and equitably across the organisation, including providing any additional support and adjustments needed for everyone to thrive
