A passion for boats would be great but no boatyard or narrowboat experience is required. Due to rapid growth and high volumes of work the marina is looking for an additional Marine Engineer join the existing team of 4. Located in a picturesque countryside setting the role will offer a relaxed working environment for the successful Marine Engineer where the emphasis is on quality of work completed. You will be a customer focused, motivated marine technician who takes pride in his/her work. Marine Engineer Duties• Utilising the 40 tonne amphibious hoist to move narrowboat from the water• Diesel engine fitting, servicing, fault finding, maintenance and repair• Welding and steel fabrication• Installation, fault finding and maintenance of boat heating systems• Gas system installation, maintenance and fault finding• AC/DC, 12v/240v electrical installation, fault finding & maintenanceThe company will support training to develop skills, especially in those areas above where you do not have experienceMarine Engineer – Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge required• Fully recognised industry qualifications i.e. City & Guilds or NVQ to level three in commercial vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent.• Competent in all aspects of diesel engine fault finding, servicing, repairs and maintenance• Any experience gained working on narrowboats would be beneficial but not essential• Knowledge/experience of basic plumbing principles would be a bonusIf you are a Marine Engineer interested in this role, apply via this advert with an updated CV
