The role

As a Marine Engineering Multi Skilled Operative, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be joining a pro-active and engaging team of highly motivated and skilled professionals working on complex and cutting-edge equipment and systems. The role offers access to specialised training to further enhance your skill set, playing your part in creating a safe and secure world.

Day to day, you'll provide support to engineering teams to enable the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure the department meets the objectives of the Business. Further responsibilities will include:

• Providing support to engineering teams to enable the identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of Clyde HM Submarines, Surface Craft and the Estate.
• Ensuring that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
• Working within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems of Work and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies.

This role is full time and will be based at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh.

Essential experience of the Marine Engineering Multi Skilled Operative

• Fleet Engineering activities and equipment e.g. FLT operations, slinging
• Manual handling
• Risk, COSHH assessments & safe systems of work
• Power Washers
• Control, issue and return of work equipment
• Must have a full UK car driving licence.

Qualifications for the Marine Engineering Multi Skilled Operative

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
