Our client, based in Fife, are looking to add a Marine Superintendent to their team on a permanent basis.
As Marine Superintendent, you will assist in the day-to-day supervision of Marine Asset operations, including liaising with Clients to ensure the Company are providing the best possible service and organising movements and on-site operations. In addition, the Marine Operations Superintendent will work closely with other members of the team to ensure the safe, efficient operation of all Company Marine Assets and Crews.
THE SUCCESFUL APPLICANT
- Deck OOW CoC.
- Workboat experience and workboat code knowledge (preferred).
- Experience with vessel inspections (preferred).
- Proven background within Marine Operations.
- Familiar with all industry regulations.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Excellent Communication skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist in the daily operations of vessels and crews
- Ensure operations are carried out safely and in a time efficient manner to customer’s satisfaction
- Liaise with authorities to ensure vessels crew operate to required standards and remain fully compliant with regulations
- Update charterers/clients of vessel movements when required to do so
- Assist in the Monitor and Maintaining of Vessel Class/Workboat Code Status, update internal systems accordingly
- In conjunction with the marine & technical superintendents liaise with Class regarding Annual/Dry Docking Surveys and formulate/agree Dry Docking Plan/Scope of Work
- Carry out pre-vessels inspection prior to class attendance and prepare vessel for Survey
- Carry out regular vessel inspection/audits, implementing procedures and reviewing practices to enhance safety and effectiveness
- Attend vessels prior to and during third party Audits in support of ship’s crew
- Assist in the Formulation of specific RAMS in conjunction with ship’s crew to customers satisfaction
- Continually review SMS and the Workboat Operations manual, updating as required
- Conduct Senior officer Appraisals
- Coordinate with vessels and the procurement department to ensure vessels are adequately equipped for operations.
- Complete any necessary paperwork to comply with Company Health & Safety and Environment Policy
- Deputise in Senior Operations Superintendent absence
- Prepare, update & review Departments RAMS ensuring they are up to date with latest legislative requirements and the needs of the group
- Work a duty on-call rota within the team
