- Provide insight on consumers, products and the market to inform strategic and tactical business decisions made through the provision of primary and secondary research and insight.
- Build and maintain relationships with teams across NS&I and deliver tailored market research activity that aligns to their strategic goals.
Job description
Support the Market Research Manager and manage the process on multiple large projects; making sure that information required is gathered efficiently and disseminated in an effective way by:
- briefing the research agency
- assessing the resulting proposal
- reviewing and signing off all collateral
- keeping the internal client(s) informed
- ensuring successful delivery of the research with actionable insights
Proactively seek or respond to stakeholder’s research request, managing your own internal customer and ensure the delivery of actionable insights.
Proactively grow and raise the profile of the research function across the business.
Support the Market Research Manager over research budget management to ensure it is spent in the most effective manner and monitored throughout the year.
Manage the relationship with relevant research suppliers, ensuring that business beneficial relationships are developed and maintained.
Manage the briefing of research suppliers for your projects and address work and cost negotiations as required.
Manage the daily duties and be the team’s key contact for the online community panel. Liaise with internal stakeholders to schedule content and deliver monthly showcase presentations to the wider business.
Horizon scan research suppliers and make recommendations of new research services where needed for the team.
MRS compliance
Responsible for ensuring that all market research conducted in the name of NS&I, within your business remit, is conducted in-line with professional standards (i.e. MRS Code of Conduct).

Working for NS&I
NS&I is currently working in a hybrid way with colleagues expected to work in the office for 40% of their working month and this will be increasing to 60% of their working month in the summer of 2024. If you are applying to work in London, the role is currently based in Sanctuary Buildings, Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BT and in summer 2024 it is anticipated that NS&I will be moving out of Sanctuary Buildings and into another office within central London.
Any move to NS&I from another employer will mean you can no longer access childcare vouchers. This includes moves between government departments.
