An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and results-driven Marketing and Category Director to join our client who is global Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing company based in Shropshire. This role benefits in being part of the SMT team allowing you the opportunity to help shape and mould the company's future.

Our client is a leading global FMCG manufacturer with a strong presence in grocery, retail, ecommerce, and distribution channels. Our innovative products and commitment to excellence have established us as an industry leader. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented individual to lead our client's Marketing and Category strategies to further enhance their market position. The individual will be required on-site in Wolverhampton 2-3 times a week after an initial induction period.

Description

Role Overview: As the Marketing and Category Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth across multiple channels. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the category management strategy, ensuring our products stand out in a competitive market both directly through commercial decisions and in-directly through your team of 12 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive product development, positioning, and launch activities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand customer needs and market trends, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee category management activities to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers in grocery, retail, ecommerce, and distribution sectors.
  • Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and continually optimize Marketing and Category performance.
  • Drive innovation and creativity in marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.

Profile

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong hands-on management skills with a track record of leading successful cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated creativity in developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in managing product categories and optimizing assortment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends and data to inform decision-making.
  • Results-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commutable distance to Wolverhampton 2-3 times a week
