Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer

Job Type: Part Time, Fixed term.

Location: Carlisle

Salary: GBP29,605 pro rata with incremental progression to GBP36,024

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in the field of medical education?

Our client has an opening for a highly motivated and experienced Marketing & Recruitment Officer to help shape the delivery of the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine, which is a collaboration between Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria.

The Role

This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the development of the marketing campaign which will both inform and inspire those potential applicants. With a proven background in marketing plan development through to campaign implementation, you'll be a driving force in helping us to position the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine as a credible and exciting opportunity for aspiring medics in the Cumbria region.

As an experienced marketing professional, you will have a track record of developing and delivering inspiring multi-channel marketing plans and support Student Recruitment campaigns using the full mix of digital & social media, advertising including experience of marketing physical and virtual events. You'll be a marketing all-rounder able to work at pace to establish and foster brand awareness, and to generate leads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the effectiveness of the full range of channels and events that generate leads, applications and conversions for the PCSM and support the joint brand positioning.
  • Integrate campaigns and advertising activity with other teams involved in the Student Recruitment journey.
  • Act as key point of contact for their media agency for undergraduate campaigns, managing the relationship and maintaining regular communications to monitor campaign performance.
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings to review performance and account management.
  • Establish metrics and provide regular reports using them, which demonstrate how Marketing and advertising activity supports Student Recruitment and drives PCSM's brand positioning in support of MBBS recruitment.
  • Awareness of Google Analytics suite
  • Share analysis and findings, via reports and presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Use the insights developed to implement improvements for future campaign performance or website user journey.

Additional Information:

You may on occasions and in line with operational needs: • Be required to work different hours including at weekends/evenings; • Be required to travel to other campuses and sites as necessary.

Skills &Qualifications

  • Experience of developing Marketing and campaign implementation plans, delivering Student Recruitment campaigns to achieve set targets, digital marketing, advertising, marketing communications, campaign and content planning and delivery, stake holder management, events and community engagement organization and delivery, engaging audiences effectively across various channels and reporting on effectiveness of activity, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience in content creation for on and offline marketing including copywriting and proofreading.
  • Experience of working with brand guidelines and strategy contributing to the evolution of the brand.
  • Experience of identifying, understanding and applying customer insight to segment the information needs of different target audiences. Thorough understanding of customer segmentation and target marketing principles and practices.
  • Experience of working in education and awareness of wider University, HE issues and external changes such as innovations, widening participation, changes in legislation/regulation which impact on the job.
  • People, agency and project management experience.
  • Experience of managing and leading a project, working with multiple cross department teams to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Experience of using Canva design software and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Detailed knowledge of HE and engagement activity aligned to Student Recruitment and widening participation.
  • Able to apply a detailed understanding of marketing communications, content and campaign creation and delivery and its underlying principles.
  • Planning implementing and monitoring lead generation and nurturing multi-channel marketing strategy and ensuring it is aligned with central Student Recruitment targets and
  • brand positioning goals.
  • Managing social media campaigns, utilising a range of ad formats to deliver highly targeted prospecting and retargeting campaigns.
  • Writing compelling advertising copy, including the study guide and other student facing materials.
  • Developing advertising assets, creating landing pages for advertising campaign, representing the PCSM commitment to EDI by ensuring advertising actively champions diversity
  • and inclusivity on their courses.
  • Delivering and managing appropriate compliance (GDPR, CMA, ASA) and approval of all campaigns and campaign materials across relevant key partners, ensuring advertising actively champions diversity and inclusivity.
  • Maintaining an accurate and inspiring presence on third party profiles via a network of affiliate and higher education partner networks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build successful relationships and manage stakeholders, internally and externally
