Job description

This is a crucial post, ensuring our services across Calderdale and Kirklees are delivered to the highest quality, most safe and effective standards.  The full job description is available as a PDF in this advert, but a summary is below.

Our hardworking colleagues are passionate, skilled and knowledgeable.  We’re a close-knit team and emphasise the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.  To start working for the Brunswick Centre is to take your part in achieving our mission – we value input, celebrate innovation and work tirelessly to make sure everything we do is safe, effective and of the highest quality.  Knowledge and experience of HIV is not essential for anyone applying for a post at the Brunswick Centre, but you must share and promote our values and principles in all you do.

We exist to enable people from the communities we serve to live positive lives free of stigma.  The Brunswick Centre was incorporated as a charity in 1992, originally working solely with people living with or affected by HIV.  We are passionate about coproduction and many of our board, colleagues and volunteers have lived experience of the issues we exist to support.

Our 30th Birthday in November 2022 saw the organisation celebrating everything we had become – delivering services across Calderdale and Kirklees to LGBTQ+ youth, families, anyone who needs emotional support who identifies as LGBTQ+ and to people living with, affected by or at risk of contracting HIV.  In addition to support services, we are an individual and community voice, making sure that the issues affecting the people we serve are heard, understood and responded to.

The main aims of Support Services Coordinator post are to ensure:

  • All services are delivered in an effective and efficient way, ensuring resilience, cost effectiveness and quality assurance

  • Coproduction in the design and delivery of services is embedded within the service with service users having increased voice and influence inside and outside the organisation
  • Services continue to have a strategic place locally, regionally, and nationally
  • Working as part of a team and reporting to the Operations Manager, to ensure a healthy synergy between delegated services and all other areas of the organisation through positive working relationships and robust challenge
