Job description

Salary: £27,900 - £36,300

Location: Cambridge; Hybrid (2 days per week working from the office are expected)

Contract: Fixed Term until 30th April 2025; 35 hours per week


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Executive to join us on a fixed term contract as a key part of our academic marketing department.

About the role

As our Marketing Executive you will be a key part of our academic marketing department, working closely with our sales teams to market books, academic journals, and other online products to university libraries across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

The role has a measurable impact on driving access to our world-renowned publishing and provides multiple opportunities for creative marketing and market engagement. Tasks include all aspects of marketing, including email, social, POS, print, advertising, video, conferences, and more.

The role will have a partial focus on supporting sales efforts in a specific regional market and will combine that with the marketing of a curated product list to a fully international audience. The work is extremely collaborative across multiple functions at Cambridge University Press and Assessment, and the successful candidate will be part of a friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic marketing team.

About you

You will have at least 1 year of marketing experience or evidence of transferable skills with a high standard of written English plus copywriting, copyediting, and proofreading skills.


You will have excellent networking ability, both internally and externally, and with a highly collaborative approach as well as:

  • Experience of working closely with sales teams (or prior experience in a sales role) desirable but not essential
  • Experience of planning, budgeting, implementing, and reporting on marketing campaigns or evidence of related skills
  • Good time management skills and an ability to show individual initiative within a busy team environment
  • Excellent computing skills and confidence acquiring new skills
  • A flexible approach to work with an enthusiastic and positive attitude to trying new things and taking on challenges

You will be happy to work on a hybrid basis, with 2 days a week spent at the University Printing House office in Cambridge
