Role: Matchmove / Tracking Artist
Location: London based studios / remote working
Reports to: Layout Lead

Job Summary

We are looking for Matchmove Artists with postvis experience, familiarisation with both spherical and anamorphic workflows and the ability to analyse and understand lens packages. They are expected to have some basic knowledge of layout tasks as well as photogrammetry and surveying and aligning to 3D environments and/or LIDAR scans.

Responsibilities:

  • Use relevant 3D software to work out the coordinates and movement of the physical camera and/or objects in a live action shot.

  • Problem solving any potential issues that inevitably arise and being able to identify quickly a workaround to suit the specific needs of the show.

  • Understanding both Spherical and Anamorphic workflows; Analysing lens grids for distortion in order to generate undistorted plates.

  • Be able to deliver work within established project targets and the high-quality standards of the company.

  • Support and liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the show and to provide any additional support should the needs arise.

Essential Skills:

  • Substantial production experience of working in a photo-real/live-action VFX pipeline; commercial, TV, or feature film experience, preferred.

  • A thorough understanding of matchmove principles such as lenses, distortion, parallax etc.

  • Must be able to track cameras and objects quickly and effectively.

  • Must have at least some experience of animating rigs for roto-animation.

  • Ability to work under pressure and take direction under tight production schedules while maintaining a high quality of work.

  • High level of professionalism, as postvis artists are sometimes on-site with clients in production.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and resourceful.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with 3DEqualizer and Maya.



Desirable Skills:

  • PFTrack, After Effects and Nuke are desirable.
