About the role
To ensure that the factory is issued a production plan which meets customer needs and Production constraints, whilst ensuring a consistent supply of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients through consultation with the site Supply Planner and Material Call off Team, in time to produce this plan efficiently and effectively, and in a timely manner to meet distribution requirements for delivery to the customer.
Key responsibilities
- Produce daily and weekly production schedules for each production line.
- Agree efficiency and output targets with production, to meet the changing needs of the business and review regularly, including understanding and discussing OEE and packing speeds with the site teams
- Liaise with production, purchasing, logistics, blending, sales, engineering, customers, QA or other to ensure all information is shared and used.
- Assist in the control of finished goods to agreed, or advised, stock levels, ensuring no stock outs.
- Advise production, through information gathering, of changes to demands on production capacity in a timely manner.
- Generate weekly and daily MRP, including the release of process orders to the agreed standard
- Review of PP/DS orders in conjunction with Supply Planner and highlight any capacity constraints and work to smooth this demand
- Schedule production on the APO planning board for the frozen horizon period to ensure material call off can plan / work accordingly
- Participate in NPI discussions at site and understand the impact of new product flows
- Focus on the needs of production, ensuring high service standards are maintained.
- Review packaging requirements for planned productions, and liaise with Material Call Off to ensure availability
- Participate fully in all training identified as necessary by the Company to ensure compliance with legislation, with particular reference to food safety.
- Apply and ensure the compliance of the Company's Food Safety, hygiene and HACCP diligently in the performance of your duties.
Qualifications and skills
- Experience of working in a production environment, and reviewing MRP requirements.
- Further Education (degree or higher education qualification)in a related Business Topic would be desirable
- The candidate must be highly skilled in Microsoft packages such as Excel
- SAP experience would be an advantage
