Material Planner - Nights (Scunthorpe)
Description and tasks
Role Purpose:
To ensure all planning, releasing and shipment of parts including warehouse administrative duties is done accurately and on time. To ensure all correspondence and communications with the customer are carried in a timely and professional manner at all times. You will be the person ensuring all planning and warehouse administrative tasks during the nightshift operation are carried out. Role reports to the Nightshift Manager.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To be the responsible out of hours contact. To answer customer calls / emails and be confident to take ownership to react and seek resolution to queries, often working to tight deadlines, ensuring seamless communication with key stakeholders such as internal colleagues, external 3PL team and directly with the customer.
To be responsible for and the first Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate communications.
Analyse and interpret customer schedule requirements to ensure on time deliveries.
Analyse, communicate with and schedule on suppliers and own manufacturing sites ensuring JIT deliveries whilst minimising inventory holdings.
Ensure the material planning cycle is accurately reflected in our MRP (Material Planning) system.
Enter or maintain customer schedules, via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and other processes in an accurate and timely manner.
To be responsible for and the first point of contact for specific customers; maintain and develop existing customer’s development plans and progress shortages to ensure on time deliveries.
Analyse, evaluate and action MRP to ensure maximum on time deliveries with minimum inventory holding.

Continually work to improve working processes, on time deliveries and cost reductions in conjunction with other departments.
Maintain data integrity and support finance, quality and dispatch teams with day to day operations.
Daily booking of incoming goods onto Bulten Warehouse System (Movex/M3)
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date stock records.
To support the nightshift operation with stock queries and investigations.
Analyse and interpret large sets of data and be able to present in a way in which people will understand.
To ensure a smooth handover of tasks and communication with day shift colleagues.
Be the key liaison between internal departments and customers.
Use initiative to resolve issues and not be afraid of making decisions.
Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
Knowledge of and adherence to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949.
Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Group & Bulten Ltd Health and Safety policy.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
Microsoft office, including excel

Our Offer
Full time permanent position - (Nights)
Monday to Thursday 21:00 - 07:00 (4 x 10 hour shifts)
Salary range from £32,400 to £34,800 including shift premium (D.O.E)
26.5 days holiday (pro rata) including statutory bank holidays
3 month probationary period
8% company pension scheme contributions
