WHAT TO EXPECT
We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Materials Science Engineer, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Battery realm.
This individual will be responsible for implementing Materials Science solutions to meet component functional targets.
Your mission? To develop the Materials Science part of the BEV battery technology roadmaps to support JLR’s electrification transition.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Consolidate and create benchmark material from device to vehicle that maximises our understanding of our competitors and the current / latest technology landscape being deployed
Work alongside our Engineering Operations team to ensure we have the right Materials Science in place to execute the technology roadmap
Work alongside key business stakeholders to ensure we meet our vehicle product needs
Develop and cascade a technology roadmap that takes us to the next generation of battery technologies such as solid-state and Materials Science-to-car / module-to-car concepts
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential –
Experience of the multi-physics nature of Materials Science and battery design and integration
Experience within the competitor Materials Science and battery manufacturing industry
An ability to communicate a technical concept and strategy vision to the wider vehicle and Power Train electrification teams to drive toward a single optimised roadmap
Ability to help build and lead a winning team in the field of Materials Science / battery pack future strategies and research
Good communication skills
Degree or relevant equivalent experience
Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
Knowledge of the BEV Materials Science and battery landscape across the worldwide supply base or other OEM manufacturers to allow credible and competitive concepts and strategies to be followed
