Materials and Supply Chain Specialist
A fantastic opportunity for a Materials and Supply Chain Specialistto join a fantastic, family-run FMCG organisation on a permanent basis. This position is based just outside Royston on a fully office basis.
The successful candidate will experience in working within a Supply Chain position and happy to progress in their career.
Role responsibilities of the Materials and Supply Chain Specialist:
- Responsible for overseeing a wide range of Supply Chain activities:
- Placing orders, managing inventory and materials, packing and ensuring the efficiency of the Supply Chain.
- Review and update Supply Chain practices in line with company policies, standards, laws and regulations.
- Negotiate with suppliers and freight forwarders, monitor and assess their performance and maintain cost-effective practices.
- Analyse the Supply Chain data and solve any issues or put alternative plans in place.
- Predict and plan the demand for products.
- Manage inventory, packing and distributing.
- Develop safety guidelines, teach and enforce the protocols.
- Work with the technical team to make sure we continuously maintain high food safety standards and BRC standards.
Person specification of the Materials and Supply Chain Specialist:
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Relationship management skills and active listening.
- Complex problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Strong knowledge of various IT systems (MS Office, ERP/MRP).
This role will be well suited to you if you have previously had a role within Supply Chain as a Supply Chain planner, Supply Chain coordinator, S&OP planner, logistics planner, logistics coordinator, import/export controller, shipping controller, material planner, material controller or buyer.
