Materials Characterization Scientist

Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Materials Characterization Scientist for a cutting edge materials and technology company focussed on accelerating the energy transition. They design and deliver innovative solutions that provide the most effective carbon capture and hydrogen storage systems. They are looking for scientists who want to contribute to making a difference in the fight against climate change by helping accelerate the delivery of their decarbonisation solutions to their customers.

The role
In this role the Materials Characterization Scientist would be part of a team who develop innovative porous materials and design systems for carbon capture, and hydrogen storage that use them.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required

* A PhD in chemistry, analytical science, chemical engineering, or four years of postgrad experience
* Knowledge of gas adsorption and separation technologies.
* At least 5 years experience (which can include the PhD) in characterising and testing porous materials gained in an industrial or academic laboratory.
* A team player with strong customer focus and great communication and influencing skills.
* Knowledge and experience of metal-organic frameworks would be an advantage

Salary: £40k - £60k dependant on experience plus benefits
