Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Production Order releasing 
  • Ensuring that production packs are stapled together and with necessary drawings  
  • Backshell Assembly drawings  
  • Releasing orders in line with schedule for monthly output  
  • Machine Shop Drawings on Thursdays
  • Re-works Actioning the rework notification according to system requirements (excl. Fibre) Ensuring that stock is allocated to the correct production orders 
  • Print the rework production order in a timely manner to ensure correct batch allocation  
  • Raising any issues with the value stream planner if not able to action the rework due to routing, stock or quality issues 
  • Scrap Replacements 
  • Ensuring daily completion of scrap replacements required by assembly areas (excl. Fibre) 
  • Ensuring checking allocation of stock & impact to other scheduled production orders if applicable & informing value stream planner  
  • Advising value stream planner in case of 0 stock or other stock issues 
  • Assembly Kit Shorts 
  • Adjusting production order correctly (excl. Fibre) 
  • Informing value stream planner in case of 0 stock 
  • Ownership of each value streams KS area, ensuring assembly know when missing parts will be received or ensuring parts are de-kitted and moved back to stock 
  • Label Printing 
  • For all Value Stream when requested by production (EXC. Fibre)  RCN’s – Routing Change Notifications / ECNs – Engineering Change Notifications 
  • To complete & action change notifications for all departments (excl. Fibre)  
  • Ensuring re-run of master data so production orders capture new routings / BOMS 
  • cancelling production orders as required by the RCN / ECN 
  • Exception Management support to Planning team  
  • Creating deliveries when parts go into stock if not on auto-delivery creation

What your background should look like:

  • Educated to GCSE Level  

  • Attending Supply Chain PIM Meeting daily  

  • Must have SAP experience / relevant MRP experience  

  • Strong IT skills including excel, including relevant MRP experience, SAP would be beneficial  

  • Proactive, strong attention to detail and good communication skills 

  • Must be able to prioritise and manage workload in line with demanding business
