Job Advertisement: Materials Testing Technician
Join the growing team at DGL Testing Services Ltd, a UKAS accredited testing company specializing in bituminous materials used in road and highways construction. From core cutting to physical testing, we conduct a range of tests on-site and at our fully equipped laboratory situated on the Kent Science Park in Sittingbourne, Kent. Additionally, we offer comprehensive testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete materials both on-site and in our laboratory.
Role Overview: As a Materials Testing Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting on-site compliance testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with current British and European standards.
- Providing accurate digital reports daily, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Traveling to various sites, primarily across the South-East of England, to carry out diverse tests.
- Maintaining all test equipment, ensuring cleanliness, and verifying calibration status.
Candidate Profile: We are looking for an individual with:
- Good numerical and mathematical skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Availability for flexible working hours, including nights and weekends when required.
- A full, current driving license.
- (Optional) Current CSCS card.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong multitasking abilities.

Laboratory/Site Technician – Estimated £24,000 to £36,000 – Depending on experience and completion of training, Sittingbourne, Kent

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Laboratory/Site Technician include, but are not limited to:
Carry out a range of soils/aggregates/concrete and Asphalt testing in line with current British and European standards
Carry out materials sampling and sample management
Ensuring all test equipment is maintained, clean and calibration status is current

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Laboratory/Site Technician:
Able to work both as part of a team and independently
Ideally hold a CSCS card, but not essential
Hold a full UK driving licence
Be physically fit as this will include manual handling and lifting
To complete activities in a methodical, safe and efficient manner
