We are currently recruiting for Two Materials Testing Technicians to join our Technical Services Laboratory at our Leicestershire site LE67 6HS.
Role summary
The successful applicant will be a key member of the Technical department delivering data and information using appropriate test methods to support our quarries and clay based manufacturing sites.
The role is physical and does involve lifting.
Key Responsibilities:
The preparation of raw materials including grinding.
Clay based Sample making
Testing and analysis of raw materials including clay, sand and fuel in accordance with relevant test methods and standards
Testing and analysis of finished product in accordance with relevant standards including Compressive Strength, Water Absorption and Durability.
The recording and documenting of test results.
Research & development
Assist and develop SSOP and risk assessments.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Mathematics and English GCSE with Science an advantage or relevant experience.
A keen awareness of Health & Safety
A good understanding of COSHH would be advantageous but is not essential
Excellent timekeeping and attendance
High degree of self-motivation
Team working attitude
Good communication skills Computer literacy with working ability of intermediate Excel and word.
